We Rated With RSACi We Rated with RSACi

May 23, 1999 -- Crazy Rides

To further our internet presence, we rated our Website with RSACi, Recreational Software Advisory Council on the Internet, and placed the RSACi META tag on our site. Our ratings are:

Nudity 0
Sex 0
Language 1
Violence 0

This Website might contain SLANG or MILD EXPLETIVES.

Our rating for Language is higher than we would expect. Crazy Rides does not support censorship, but we do strive to make our content socially acceptable. To us this means ensuring what we publish is inoffensive to most users and above all, truthful. We also want to make users of this Website aware of our content using tools such as those provided by RSACi.

We feel it would be dishonest to rate our site with a Language level of 0, because at times our passion for our work demands we express our feelings honestly. We feel there may be SLANG used in some descriptions and we concede there may be a time and a place for a MILD EXPLETIVE (although none have been used). We are also aware of the fact this Language level of 1 contains other definitions which are highly unlikely to appear ('non-sexual anatomical reference' and 'mild terms for body functions').

Crazy Rides does NOT disagree with the intentions of RSACi or Microsoft, but we have found problems with it's implementation. When Microsoft Internet Explorer is setup to block offensive content LEVEL 1 is labeled MILD EXPLETIVES while LEVEL 0 is labeled INOFFENSIVE SLANG which is inconsistent with the RSACi Information page where LEVEL 0 is labeled NONE OF THE ABOVE.
